Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision, the HR Assistant performs a variety of duties in support of Human Resource Services. Apply established human resource guidelines, rules, policies and procedures to classified, exempt and/or academic processes for personnel records and files. Review, develop and maintain accurate records and correspondence. Assist clients, maintain electronic and paper files, produce reports, gather and organize documentation, and collect data and formulate results. Maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times.


Required Qualifications:

  • Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service both in person and/or over the phone.

  • Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks at one time, with frequent interruptions.

  • Excellent attention to details skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in human resource functions such as benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, employee/labor relations.

  • Experience providing clerical – administrative support to multiple individuals.

  • Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings.

Monthly Salary:

$2,864.00 - $3,701.00

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
