The Facilities Housing Department is seeking a full time Housing Crew Supervisor. This role is to provides direction and work with Facilities Housing Maintenance Crew Members in their daily tasks. This role will be located on ground at our 33rd and Camelback main campus.


  • Assign duties to staff and inspects work activities.

  • Review and approve timesheets within time keeping system.

  • Make personnel recommendations, such as hires, disciplinary actions, performance data, and terminations. Train employees in specific methods and procedures to accomplish tasks and the proper operation of all equipment needed to perform tasks.

  • Allocate daily tools, supplies and/or equipment to ensure quality and timely of daily tasks/services.

  • May assist with inventorying of supplies and equipment. Ensure all equipment utilized is in good working condition; makes recommendations for equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Perform daily operational tasks of crew members when needed. Ensure all crew members follow OSHA guidelines for performing daily work; ensures all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized daily by all crew members.

  • Provide recommendations to management regarding operational improvements either in service delivery, substitutes for equipment or supplies which would improve both operational efficiency and operational expenses.

  • Provide recommendations to management to facilitate the use of environmental best practices in the maintenance and upkeep of GCU facilities, e.g., "green" solutions, reduction in water usage, etc.

  • May be hands on with a variety of power tools in repairing, refurbishing, cleaning, installing workstation cubical, or repairing any structural element (walls, floors, windows) as needed.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints or schematics to ensure assembly or repair is accurate.

  • Must be able to learn all general maintenance components, painting, plumbing, HVAC to troubleshoot and review quality of service.

  • Ability to provide knowledge and training around all janitorial products used.

  • Ability to operate all cleaning equipment, e.g., power cleaners, floor polishing/cleaning machinery and ability to train team members.

  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment.
