Summary of Job Duties:

*This is a temporary position*
The Department of Campus Life and Student Support Services requests a temporary floor tech position to work with the housekeeping team in the Residence Hall during a peak period, May-August. Funding for this seasonal workload assistance is allocated in the department’s maintenance budget. The additional worker is necessary to assist staff with cleaning and refinishing floors when students vacate the facility after the spring semester and return in the fall. Housing for summer program students is also in demand during this three ½ month period. The additional worker allows us to keep up with the high summer housing demand and generate the necessary income to meet department revenue projections.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED required.

Preferred Qualifications:                              

  • Two (2) years of vocational, on-the-job training, or experience in housekeeping and floor care.
  • One (1) year of experience in institutional floor care, specifically stripping, waxing, and buffing.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain living and common areas in the Residence Hall and Student Center.

  • Reports directly to the Residence Hall Facilities Manager.

  • Responsible for routine housekeeping duties that include detailed cleaning and floor care for resident living spaces, common areas, and administrative offices.


Salary Information:

$15 hour
