Secretarial and administrative support to the Bridges to Adelphi administration and staff. Assist current, and potential students with inquiries, problems, and general university policies and procedures.

REPORTS TO: Bridges Program Administrative Assistant


  • Performs all secretarial duties for Bridges Program administration and staff, as requested 
  • Answers incoming phone calls, and maintains records of those calls 
  • Maintains confidential student records and files 
  • Maintains confidentiality in regards to all HIPPA and FERPA laws 
  • Handles inquiry calls and walk-ins regarding program 
  • Assists in keeping track of potential incoming students for following semesters 
  • Sends out emails to students, parents, staff, and university faculty and administrators, as requested
  • Places work orders, as requested 
  • Schedules appointments for administrative staff 
  • Performs other job related duties, as requested 
  • Attends university training programs as often as necessary to remain proficient in using university technology 

  • Demonstrates ability to effectively interact with students under all conditions, on a regular basis 
  • Demonstrates ability to type, and use Microsoft Word and Excel proficiently 
  • Excellent organizational. interpersonal, and communication skills are a must 

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Minimum of two years general office and secretarial experience 
  • HOURS:

  • 20 Hours per week
  • Evenings and Saturdays are required
