Harborview's Inpatient Rehabilitation Therapy team is seeking a Per diem, Variable Shift, HOSPITAL ASSISTANT position. The individual in this position, under general supervision, will assist the physical, occupational, speech, and therapeutic recreation staff in a variety of tasks designed to improve departmental work efficiency. These tasks are: inventory management including ordering, stocking, managing and organizing supply areas; equipment maintenance including periodic monitoring, safety inspection, and regular cleaning, maintenance, and set up; assisting clinical staff in miscellaneous tasks including record retrieval, filing, faxing, photocopying, arranging for interpreter services, charge preparation, and compilation; direct patient care including ADL’s, exercise, ambulating or positioning as directed by the therapy clinician, and safety support during groups or patient treatment. This individual must also be able to drive a van for therapeutic outings with the recreation therapist and patients. Additionally, the person in this role will participate in unit and selected departmental activities to promote effective problem solving and communication.

Condition of Employment:
Valid Washington State Driver's License
Legal Requirements:
Nursing Assistant-Registered (NAR) with the Washington State Department of Health.
or
Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC/CNA) with the Washington State Department of Health.

Requirements:
High School graduation AND six months of customer service experience OR six months experience involving direct patient care OR equivalent education/experience.
and a Valid Washington State Driver’s License
