The purpose of this notice is to inform you of a job opportunity for a Physicist, GS 1310-14/15 position in the DOE Office of Science, Office of High Energy Physics, Research and Technology Division, Germantown, MD.

The Office of High Energy Physics (HEP) of the Department of Energy has an opening for a program manager to handle HEP’s portfolio of scientific research in quantum information science (QIS) as it relates to particle physics research, including areas of related advanced technology R&D.  The major components of this portfolio include directed, milestone-driven R&D conducted at the DOE Quantum Centers, as well as synergistic fundamental research activities at DOE national labs and universities, such as: QIS theory, quantum algorithms and protocols, and simulations; R&D programs to advance key technologies such as quantum sensors and superconducting cavities; and a suite of technology demonstrators which deploy these advanced concepts and novel technologies in well-defined laboratory settings to advance HEP science drivers in new and groundbreaking ways.
