Hepatology Physician/Scientist (3-309-1124) - (220000LV)
 

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) is recruiting a full-time academic hepatologist with a federally-funded research program.  Space and start-up funds will be proportionate to the strength of the applicant’s research program. Additional support for research fellows, doctoral candidates and post-doctoral trainees is available through the division’s NIDDK T32 Training Grant. Expected faculty rank will be Associate Professor or Professor, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.

 

Qualifications

 

Candidates must board-certified (Internal Medicine and GI) and have a strong record of research creativity and productivity. The primary focus is research, but the successful candidate must possess clinical and endoscopic skills to supervise and teach fellows. Publications in high-impact journals and NIH and other federal funding are required.
