Job Summary

The primary role of the Healthcare Compliance Analyst is to support the operational functions of Compliance Program Services by providing healthcare monitoring and education services for Drexel University clinical practices in College of Medicine, College of Nursing and Health Professions, School of Public Health and other colleges and schools where clinics exist. The Healthcare Compliance Analyst is a regulatory expert who helps educate and advise the University toward excellence in healthcare compliance. The Healthcare Compliance Analyst reports to the Director, Compliance Program Services.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the oversight of the University’s health care compliance program.
  • Remain current in Medicare and Medicaid regulations and medical terminology, with comprehensive knowledge of billing, reimbursement, and coding guidelines.
  • Assist in management of Coding and Billing audits for Drexel clinical practices.
  • Provide education and training to Physicians and clinicians to remediate audit findings and manage risk.
  • Researching industry compliance regulations and policies.
  • Developing and updating healthcare compliance policies and procedures, as required. Perform annual update and review of healthcare compliance policies.
  • Oversee and maintain annual Medicare training oversight for Drexel providers.
  • Complete and assure annual Medicare First Tier, Downstream or Related entity (FDR) attestations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director, Compliance Program Services and/or Vice President, University Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years combined experience in academic medicine compliance, office professional fee coding, and reimbursement operations knowledge.
  • Exceptional ability to formulate compliance policies, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert spreadsheet and database management skills.
  • Verifiable ability to maintain the highest level of diplomacy and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Physician coding certification (CPC or CCS-P)

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 54,630.00 to $ 81,940.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
