Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Health Technician III for Rutgers Health Services. Under the direct supervision of the Asst. Director, Health Information Mgt. & Patient Services or his/her designee, facilitates patient care at Health Centers providing reception services, making appointments, answering and directing telephone calls, review daily schedules including on-line appointments, check insurance status, confirm permission to bill insurances and general front office operations. Helps coordinate student care quickly and efficiently.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Generates comprehensive computerized medical records and coordinates confidential medical reports. Helps coordinate student care quickly and efficiently.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent and three years clerical experience in a health care services or similar service environment.

Equipment Utilized:

• Medicat – electronic health records software; electronic scanning and copiers; Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
• Use of computerized telephonic system.
• Verification of vaccination and usage of computerized phone system.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• May need to work at any Health Care site within Rutgers Student Health New Brunswick/Piscataway as need warrants.
• May also need to work evening shifts as need warrants.
