Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for the development, administration and implementation of three research programs, two UCSF funded research programs (“Heart Health – After Cancer Treatment” and Heart Health – After Cardiac Treatment (HEART-ACT)) and an American Heart Association study (SUPeR-FOOD). HEART-ACT aims to pilot test an exercise and health behavior program in breast cancer survivors and cardiac patients to determine whether this program improves cardiovascular risk factors and health outcomes. This pilot program will be conducted at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). The SUPeR-FOOD study aims to determine if navigation or text messaging improves participation in a food program compared to usual care.
The HEART-ACT program includes weekly sessions with patients including group exercise, group education sessions, and individual (one-on-one) sessions. The incumbent will perform an initial intake assessment with participants eligible for the program to develop an individualized exercise plan and health behavior program. While the participant is in the 12-week program, the incumbent will conduct regular one-on-one assessments with study participants to review goals and modify the individualized program as needed. In addition, the incumbent will lead group sessions at ZSFG that include group exercise and education. For SUPeR-FOOD, the incumbent will be responsible for guiding participants through the Food is Medicine program system to help participants overcome barriers to accessing services. The incumbent will also assist with adverse event assessment. This position will work in conjunction with the study Clinical Research Coordinators, who will be conducting some of the other study specific duties (e.g., informed consent).
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
