Position Highlights | Child Care Health Consultants (CCHC) work with child care providers (center and home-based) to improve the health and well-being of children in the provider’s care as part of the First Things First initiative to improve the quality of child care through the Quality First program. This position works with providers in Pinal County and is under the direction of the Family, Consumer & Health Science Agent. The CCHC will receive training so they can provide expert guidance to child care providers on topics such as safety and injury prevention, policies and procedures that reduce the spread of illness, caring for children with special health care needs and more. They also work with other CCHC staff to develop education materials, conduct health and safety assessments and connect with child care providers on-site, by telephone or through email. This position requires frequent travel to child care sites throughout Pinal County and working from home 1 to 2 days per week to complete reporting, paperwork and other tasks.
