Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigators and Project Directors of UCLA’s Department of Family Medicine and Semel lnstitute, you will perform the role of “Health Coach” for the QUIT-Mobile project. Major job functions include but are not limited to: implement intervention protocols and activities; liaise and coordinate patients with care and services, and  deliver coaching intervention services via telehealth (phone or video), using an existing manual of procedures for setting goals and implementing behavior change for diverse low-income adult patients of community health centers who screen as risky (moderate) drug users.

In addition to the intervention-specific priorities and goals, the major job functions of the Health Coach will also support the overall QUIT-Mobile’s retention of a cohort of approximately 1,000 adult primary care patients.

This is a part-time, two year limited appointment that may convert to career.

  JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s level education.

Interest in medicine, nursing, public health, community health, social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field.

Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

 

PREFERRED:

One year of experience in health coaching.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Knowledge of Los Angeles County
