Job Summary:

The Clinical Education & Placement Team handles all processes related to experiential learning with the CU College of Nursing, including the Clinical Education Center (CEC). The CEC is an innovative clinical learning environment to prepare students for safe patient care in today’s complex healthcare systems. The Clinical Education & Placement Faculty provides CU Nursing students with the most up-to-date, clinically relevant best practices in various specialty areas.  The CEC promotes a safe environment for student nurses to learn the foundational skills needed to care for patients, but they also learn professionalism and the role of a nurse. The Clinical Education Center is available across the CON curriculum and on the Anschutz Medical Campus as a clinical resource across professions.

The Health Care Simulation Assistant (HCSA) I position supports simulation for CU Nursing, Undergraduate, and Graduate simulation programs at the Anschutz Medical Campus (Aurora) and the Legacy (Lone Tree) locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to faculty and Teaching Assistants for required supplies, equipment, and basic instruction on use.
  • Receives simulation department deliveries.
  • Regular stocking of supplies in the simulation suite. 
  • Organize and receive supplies for the simulation department. 
  • Maintain and keep track of the inventory of supplies to ensure adequacy and availability for simulation.
  • Maintains equipment and ensures task trainers are in good working condition.
  • Provides support to the teaching team with required supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures:
    • Space is organized, clean, and well maintained at all times – control room and clinical space.
    • Supplies are put away after use.
    • Areas are cleaned.
    • Space is clear of clutter.
    • Items are neatly put away and properly labeled.
    • Linens are changed/maintained as necessary.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora and Lone Tree, Colorado.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
    • Substitution: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. A combination of related education and experience may be considered.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be willing and able to lift 50-70 lbs frequently.
  • Must be willing and able to walk and remain on feet frequently.
  • Must be willing and able to work at multiple locations, including Anschutz Medical Campus (Aurora) and the Legacy location (Lone Tree).
  • Must be willing and able to work various scheduled times to accommodate academic scheduling needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a wide variety of technology and software, such as Zoom, Microsoft Office, or similar.
  • One year of experience in a customer service role.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $3,418 to $3,828 per month ($41,016 to $45,936 per year).

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
