Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, this position is responsible for financial and nursing productivity reporting, managing employee relations data affecting staffing and resource utilization. Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations to maintain optimal customer satisfaction and support across UI Health.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data Management
  • Responsible for analyzing reports to ensure appropriate and timely operational changes
  • Analyze organizational unit structure and functions to determine adequacy of existing organizational structure, eliminate duplications and non-essential activities, and clarify organizational relationships, with responsibility for recommending revisions in activities, organizational relationships, lines of authority, and similar operational matters
  • Achieve Department objectives by determining system improvements and eliminating repetitious processes while improving all operations.
  • Assures accuracy of data and fiscal information by reviewing invoices and other reports of al data and financial information related to staffing and nursing productivity.
  • Budgeting/Accounting
  • Develop weekly and monthly financial reports
  • Process and audit agency invoices and confirm all payments are charged to the correct patient care unit
  • Monitor and maintain office inventory levels as well as prepared requisitions for materials, supplies, and services
  • Assists in budget preparation and feasibility studies, and process payroll
  • Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Conduct complex operational analysis and propose solutions to improve and stream line service-related processes
  • Organize and maintain al files in electronic format ensuring confidential information is secure according to HIPAA
  • Assist in resolving problems

  • Prepare and lead training for position control staffing, payroll, scheduling in the
  • Enforce and escalate position control, scheduling issues that affect nurse staffing
  • Management
  • Accomplish al objectives by developing tools for nursing to assist in recruiting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and disciplining employees; communicate expectations and enforced al policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for business operations that includes paying invoices, ordering supplies, managing inventory as needed
  • Serves as a resource concerning hospital administrative procedures and policies to subordinates and other administrative personnel; directs the compilation and maintenance of procedure manuals and informational materials that can impact the department.

  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Any one or any combination, that equals 3 years (36 months) of the following types of preparation--
      • college course work leading to a major in hospital administration, health administration, or business administration, or similar area of study
        • Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals 1 year (12 months)
        • 90-semester hours equals 2 years (24 months)
        • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals 3 years (36 months)

        OR
      • progressively more responsible experience that provided a knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories, and practices used in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar professional experience
    • One year (12 months) of hospital/medical center/health care administrative work experience

      OR

      College course work leading to a Master's Degree in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar area of study

    • Three years (36 months) of responsible administrative experience comparable to Health Care Administrator I in this series
