Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director, the Head Women's Soccer Coach is responsible for the management of the Women's Soccer program, which is NCAA Division I program in the Big West Conference. The incumbent hires and supervises assistant coaches; oversees practice and game day coaching; identifies, evaluates, and recruits academically qualified student-athletes, and monitors their academic progress.

  • Maintains a team Academic Progress Rate at 985 or above the NCAA minimum requirements; develops a competitive schedule; and adheres to university and departmental practices relating to expenditures.
  • Cultivates and maintains effective relations with students, parents, faculty, staff, media, and friends of the university.
  • Plays a leadership role in marketing, fundraising and revenue generation for the program, department, and University.
  • As a leader, demonstrates a commitment to student success that is mission aligned with the university's vision, values and priorities. Establishes an ethical and collegial work environment, promoting a collaborative, accountable and inclusive team. Encourages a courageous and resilient solution-oriented environment by participating in new opportunities to further the mission of the university. Participates in developing initiatives that further support the campus mission with a service-oriented and catalytic mind set. Strengthens employees by being communicative and a talent builder that develops team attributes, furthering departmental goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution; and
  • Minimum of five (5) years of: demonstrated coaching and recruiting experience; and/or professional league playing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Leadership
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies and procedures pertaining to Women's SOccer. Demonstrated coaching and recruiting success at the collegiate level.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills; strong commitment to the academic achievement of student athletes. Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population; the ability to act as a mentor and leader; fundraising experience is desirable.
  • Lead diverse teams to support the operational mission and vision of employers by fostering an ethical, inclusive and collegial work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadership.
  • Lead varying initiatives through a collaborative, service-oriented and communicative approach.
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee development, recognition, and accountability to further operational goals.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
  • Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits.
  • This is a Temporary position - end date to be determined.
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $105,000 - $120,000 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
