George Fox University'sAthletic Department is seeking a highly-motivated and organized individual to join as a Head Tennis Teaching Pro for the Tennis Center classes.


About the Job:

The Head Tennis Teaching Pro will assist the Tennis Director in many aspects relating to the weekly evening and weekend Adult & Junior group lessons.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing and organizing student employees to administer the current tennis classes.
  • Building the vision for, organizing, and administering adult tennis classes.
    • This could include, but is not limited to, marketing and reaching out to the community to build the tennis program.
  • The general oversight and responsibility of the Multi-Use Facility.
    • This could include, but is not limited to, safety protocols and customer service.
  • Conducting administrative duties and providing excellent customer service/communication with the customers and families.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • USPTA Level 2 Certification or higher.
  • 2 to 3 years of teaching and oversight of group classes.
  • The ability to work weekends and evenings.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Preference Will be Given to Those Who Have the Following Attributes:

  • Collegiate tennis playing experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification(s).

Job Information

  • Schedule - 20 hours per week
    • 12 to 15 hours spent on the court per week, with another 4-5 hours of administrative work
    • Typical classes in the evenings run between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm
    • Occasional weekends required
  • Work Location - Newberg Campus / Multi-Use Facility
  • Supervisor - Head Coach of Men's Tennis/Co-Director of the Tennis Facility
