Scope of Job
To plan and execute all student athlete strength and conditioning initiatives for the Athletics Department. Responsible for the development and implementation of the strength and conditioning program for all sports with the focus on both the individual and team.
Description of Duties
• Evaluates individual and team strength and conditioning needs.
• Sets physical and conditioning goals.
• Designs progressive resistance programs.
• Coordinates with coaches and athletic staff to determine sport and player specific needs and to design effective programs.
• Develops an exercise program for student athletes in a rehabilitation setting.
• Develops and coordinates maintenance/replacement schedule of exercise equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited institution of higher education

As condition of employment this position requires the applicant to be authorized to operate a University-Owned Vehicle for Official University Business. Per University of Texas System Policy 157, applicants will be subject to a motor vehicle record check for their most recent thirty-six (36) month history. Out of State Drivers are required to submit a 36-month history MVR from their prior State of residence(s).
Required Experience
Two (2) years experience in strength and conditioning training. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Exercise equipment. Standard Office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Indoors; physical work and lifting, possibly over 50 lbs. Some travel may be required.

• Understand that violation(s) of NCAA rules could result in sanctions being placed against the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the University.
• Attend regularly scheduled compliance meetings to maintain knowledge of current and recently established policies.
• Have familiarity and knowledge of NCAA Division I rules required as part of job duties.
• Ability to exhibit integrity with high ethical standards and strict adherence to NCAA, conference, university and departmental rules and regulations as well as solid commitment to academic integrity, student-athlete welfare, and any applicable NCAA ethnic diversity and gender equity standards.
• Some evenings and weekend work may be required. Confidentiality required in the handling of medical information. NOTE: This position will be subject to a pre-employment physical.
