South Dakota State University (SDSU) is committed to excellence both on and off the field. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Football Equipment Manager to oversee all aspects of equipment management, including ordering, inventory control, and ensuring the safety and quality of our football equipment. SDSU is an NCAA Division I institution located in Brookings, South Dakota that completes in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will serve as Head Football Equipment Manager. The primary role will be with ordering and purchasing football equipment, inventory control and safety of equipment, and serve as UnderArmour liaison.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree completed by start date or 8 years of directly related experience (overseeing and/or managing an equipment room at any level, ordering equipment, inventory, maintaining, repair of equipment, etc.);         
  • Experience with maintaining a collegiate equipment room and laundry management (i.e. purchasing equipment, maintaining and repairing equipment, inventory control);
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds;
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire;
  • Knowledge of budget oversight;
  • Experience supervising staff;
  • Knowledge of event/scheduling coordination; 
  • A basic knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting a championship experience for student-athletes on and off the playing field/court and exemplify a high standard of integrity. 

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Athletic Equipment Managers Association certification;
  • Preference in football equipment knowledge/experience;
  • Knowledge of athletic/sporting events – scheduling/set up and/or tear down; and
  • Division I experience.
