Friends University is seeking to fill the Head Coach of Men’s & Women’s Wrestling position in Wichita Kansas. This position will oversee all areas of the Friends University intercollegiate men’s and women’s wrestling program.  This includes budget management, personnel management, practice and game planning, recruitment, and retention.  To support the Christian mission and values of Friends University and the NAIA champions of Character.

Skills & Requirements

Two to four years of coaching experience preferred; College coaching and recruitment experience preferred. 

Bachelor’s degree required and master’s degree preferred.

Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. The ability to motivate and influence others is material to this position.  Requires diplomacy, ability to garner trust of others and maintaining confidential information.  Ability to lead in an inclusive and developmental manner.

The position requires strong financial management, time management and personnel management skills.  The individual must possess an acute understanding of sport preparation and facilitation.  Some experience and skill in fundraising and summer camp development will be considered.  The individual must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 35 pounds.
