Friends University is seeking to fill the Head Coach of Men’s Basketball position in Wichita Kansas. This position will develop and direct strategies for recruiting, counseling, and coaching student athletes in the men’s basketball program. This position has supervisory responsibilities for two part-time coaching staff, and various student associates.

Skills & Requirements

Five years as a college assistant or head coach preferred; two years coaching at either high school or college level required. Experience in an academic discipline or higher education, and two years recruiting background desired.

Bachelor’s degree required and master’s degree preferred.

Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.  Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner required.

Ability to recruit off campus, understanding of the game of basketball, ability to lead and supervise players and coaches.  The ability to get along with a wide variety of people in various situations.  Computer proficiency is desired (Microsoft Office preferred).
