In the future, if a hybrid work schedule, which consists of 2 days per week on campus and as-needed for in-person meetings is required, employee will be given 60 days-notice to determine feasibility of relocating to Colorado if working out of state.

Principal Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed at an advanced or expert level.

This position is a subject matter expert as it relates to the HRIS system.

We are looking for a highly motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented HRIS Analyst to serve as the liaison between Human Resource Business Partners across the campus community and CU System IT.  This position will focus on human resources business processes and applications. The position will work directly with SMEs/stakeholders across the campus and within HR to identify, communicate and document business requirements.  The HRIS Analyst will partner with information technology resources to evaluate new applications and/or application enhancements based on business and functional requirements and assist in the implementation. The candidate will have hands-on experience in process design configuration, and implementation.

Position must understand human resources processes, business needs and objectives. Must possess the ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.

This position will support the implementation and maintenance of HCM initiatives and upgrades.

Position is responsible for understanding the functions and technical capabilities of the HCM system and be able to provide support to campus users and serve as the primary point person to coordinate gathering requirements during system upgrades.

Must also possess strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose a problem and provide technically accurate details and workarounds.

Position will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly strong customer skills interacting with key stakeholders. Must manage time and work effectively under tight deadlines. Must have the ability to learn business processes and translate them into a proven system.

Business Intelligence/Analysis

Along with campus SMEs identify and document business requirements for Human Resources and cross-functional stakeholders for new and enhanced systems/functions to improve and streamline business processes and performance. 

Project Management

Identify and document business requirements, create campus project plans for various HRIS priorities, and manage projects

HCM Upgrades

Responsible for coordinating the UAT (user acceptance testing) process including identifying testers, preparing testers for process, scheduling, communication to testers, script review and submission, and participating in the testing process.

In partnership with the System team, leads the V&V (verification and validation) process along with other campus SMEs. Ensures that scripts capture system processes prior to UAT testing.  Coordinate and participate in off-script testing to ensure campus-specific processes align with requirements.

Represents campus interests and needs by participating in cross-campus team meetings, module team meetings, and other miscellaneous meetings. Solicits and shares campus-specific input.

HCM Training

Position is responsible for creating and delivering training for campus PPLs (payroll personnel liaisons) on current and new functionality. Determines appropriate training method and content based on user needs and feedback from campus change network.  Document HCM and related business processes via campus-specific process maps. 

HCM Troubleshooting/Communication

Position works with campus PPLs to troubleshoot system issues. If issue is technical and is reported to HCM_Community, monitors resolution and escalates issues if necessary.

Drafts and distributes bi-weekly communication e-mail that includes known issues, current initiatives, and updates. 

Creates and reviews technical training documents, manuals and website content. 

HCM Security and Corrections

Along with additional team member, responsible for HCM security and correction processes for the Anschutz Medical Campus and Denver Campus.

Position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Talent Acquisition, Compensation and HCM.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $63,000 - $77,000. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, HR or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • 4 years of professional level experience supporting, administering or configuring HRIS applications including requirements gathering, system design, configuration/development, functional testing and go-live support.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/professional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis but not for the specific experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM or comparable HRIS system which included troubleshooting issues and providing user training.
  • Prior higher education experience.
  • Prior experience working with multiple, competing priorities.
  • Experience creating training based on user needs and delivering technical training.
  • Experience working with SharePoint software.
