Work Schedule Summary
Variable hours including mornings, nights, and weekends. Preference will be given to applicants who can fill open work shifts. Multiple applicants will be hired from this posting.

Position Responsibilities


Position Summary
Perform a variety of building operations support functions for the Idaho Student Union Building / Teaching Learning Center (TLC), Bruce M. Pitman Center, Kibbie Dome, Memorial Gym, and other UI buildings.
Duties will include:
  • Perform opening and closing of buildings;
  • Provide information to building patrons in person and over the phone;
  • Monitor building activities;
  • Assist with guest experience at events by scanning tickets or ushering;
  • Interact with an array of patrons;
  • Serve as a representative of the University of Idaho;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Guest Services Manager.

Responsibilities


Job Duty Function Provides a wide variety of building operation functions for Idaho Commons/TLC, Bruce M. Pitman Center, Kibbie Dome, PEB, and Memorial Gym by:
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Providing service as an usher for campus wide events such as concerts, athletic events, etc.;
  • Selling event tickets as requested by the Ticketing Manager;
  • Scanning tickets at University events;
  • Performing building operation tasks including locking and unlocking main doors, various offices and university classrooms as directed;
  • Providing front line customer service including answering phones, transferring calls, giving directions, and assisting patrons and general public;
  • Verifying and allowing access to offices after-hours and on weekends;
  • Distributing daily and/or weekly reservation reports and reservation information;
  • Hanging banners, distributing and monitoring
  • Regularly monitoring building security;
  • Reporting building maintenance, cleaning, and safety concerns;
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace;
  • Utilizing computers to create, process, and maintain a variety of documents and administrative records including daily shift reports, shared drive files, online calendar information and other technical information.

  • .Working with other building staff as a team to solve problems, provide information, assist with scheduling needs, communicate with facilities and operations staff;
  • Coordinating evacuation procedures in the case of an emergency;
  • Assisting in filling shifts and special event needs.

Position Qualifications


Required Qualifications
  • Experience with providing customer service.
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of:
  • Common business software applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • University of Idaho, Idaho Student Union Building/Bruce M. Pitman Center/TLC/Kibbie Dome/PEB/Mem Gym.
  • University of Idaho’s academic settings and student engagements/activities.

Experience with:
  • Locking and unlocking buildings.
  • Personal computers.
  • Audio and visual presentation equipment.
  • Serving as a student leader working in an office environment.
  • Problem solving.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Lift, carry and/or otherwise move items weighing up to approximately 20 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to move about and between venues for extended periods of time up to a full shift of work.
  • Bend and stoop.
