Job Summary
Performs
complex grounds maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of University grounds
and related areas.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Driver's License.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to learn office and university-specific software.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain a driver’s license prior to employment.
- Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
- Knowledge of applicable safety requirements.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, University policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the planting and care of trees, shrubbery, flowers, and grass.
- Skill in the use of grounds-keeping hand tools and equipment, in the operation of motorized and gas-operated equipment.
