The Agricultural Communications Department is adding two graphic designers to their creative team of designers, photographers, writers, and gifted professionals who collaborate to communicate the innovations, discoveries and opportunities at Purdue's College of Agriculture. The graphic design team capitalizes on individual skills that range from developing educational games and exhibits to creating motion graphics and animations to producing powerful print and web designs. Responsibilities will include:

  • Graphic and Multimedia design: developing and executing concepts to be translated into a variety of projects including print, exhibits, illustration, animation, motion graphics, web design, augmented reality, and 3D modeling design
  • Project Management: Using web-based software, adhere to production schedules, note progress, and maintain strong communication with colleagues and clients

Qualifications

 
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Computer Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Arts, or related field
  • Three years experience in graphic design
  • A diverse, engaging online portfolio 
  • Developing and delivering creative solutions
  • Solid design and creative skills such as Adobe Creative Suite and demonstrated creative success
  • Project management skills: working directly with the client and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of coding for web and multimedia
Preferred:
  • Experience in technical illustration, game development, learning design technology, augmented reality 3-D modeling design or corporate communications and marketing

  • Multimedia skills including illustration, animation, video editing, and sound editing

  • 3-D modeling design skills such as Unity eD, Maya, eD Studio Max

  • UX/UI design skills
