Scope of Job
To provide professional graphic design services for University marketing.
Description of Duties
• Creates visual aspects of marketing materials for print, outdoor, the web, and social media platforms. 
• Works with supervisor to ensure that creative designs present accurate information and reinforce the mission, vision, values of the University. 
• Ensures consistent brand articulation and helps maintain the UTRGV brand in accordance with University style guidelines. Assists with revision of University graphics pieces as needed to ensure they align to University brand standards. 
• Collaborates on and contributes to the creative development process and partners with other creative areas within the organization and externally. 
• Collaborates and works closely with the different marketing and communications functions and offices. 
• Provides research and concept development for University-related marketing materials. 
• Adheres to quality control standards, including proofing, reviewing, and evaluating creative output. 
• Effectively manages projects and deadlines with timely reporting to supervisor. 
• Participates in creating and presenting creative pitches. 
• Responsible for production of materials using industry-standard software (i.e. Adobe Suite). 
• Reviews pre-print proofs to assure highest quality production and prepares artwork to be sent for production. 
• Coordinates multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. 
• Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine art, or advertising from an accredited University.
Preferred Education
None.
Licenses/Certifications
Preferred: Specific training, certifications, licenses or similar related to graphic design.
Required Experience
One (1) years as a graphic designer in a design group.
Preferred Experience
None.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment, personal computer, and audio/visual equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume creative environment while setting priorities, managing time, and meeting deadlines. 
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deliverables are achieved on time while maintaining the highest quality. 
• Ability to produce high-resolution, pre-press-ready artwork. 
• Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, and typography. 
• Knowledge in the principles and techniques of artistic and graphic design. 
• Knowledge of graphic design, typography, and layout with proven skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and industry-standard design programs as needed. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an aptitude for making quick, quality decisions 
• Strong sense of customer service and consistently interact with clients with a high standard of professionalism 
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
