Position Overview

The Graphic Designer works to promote, preserve, and enhance the academic and research activities of the School through developing and delivering effective visual content. This position will provide support through creatively designed content for print and digital delivery, design consultation services to faculty and staff, documentation of School activities and projects, and maintaining the School’s website.
The position works closely with the Director of Collections & Public Engagement and the Director of Academic Events and Co-curricular Affairs.


Job Description

35% DESIGN PRODUCTION SERVICES

  • Create, design, and edit digital assets to promote School initiatives and activities for use in various media platforms, including social media, websites, digital newsletters, and other electronic media
  • Create, design, and manage:  (1) the production of digital and print publications that document and/or promote the academic and research activities of the School; and (2) the production of internally and externally facing print collateral, including brochures, flyers, postcards, posters, and other marketing collateral
  • Coordinate with external vendors to produce collateral materials
  • Manage projects to ensure content accuracy and timelines are met by working collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Provide effective design and technical consultation so that projects meet stakeholder expectations, uphold School strategic priorities, and conform to University brand standards

35% WEBSITE MANAGEMENT

  • Work with administration, faculty, and staff to develop effective web pages
  • Create web experiences with an understanding of audience
  • Work within the University’s Drupal Content Management System
  • Be the point of contact for technical and content edits on the website
  • Monitor site to ensure functionality and informational clarity

25% CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Develop, utilize, and maintain digital asset management systems 
  • Develop and work within standardized taxonomy structures 
  • Develop efficient and repeatable processes that integrate documentation, design production, and asset management
  • Establish protocols for submitting new material and updates/corrections
