UTHealth Houston’s School of Dentistry is hiring for a full-time Graphic Designer/Sr. Graphic Designer to join their team of professionals. Deliverable range from brochures, posters, signage, invitations, newsletters, logos, letterheads, business cards and other printed material. Projects will be varied and may include a variety of print and online work performed and processed before deadlines. The ideal candidate will have Adobe Creative Suite experience. We are seeking a customer focused individual who is looking to be a part of an awesome team.

Position Summary:

Performs and coordinates graphic design functions for projects such as brochures, reports, magazines, posters, invitations, newspapers, newsletters, logos, letterheads, business cards and other printed material.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1.  Utilizes desk top publishing to generate layouts and designs for the majority of projects. 
2.  Identifies the needs and preferences of clients and consistently produces the desired products. 
3.  Monitors and prioritizes multiple projects.
4.  Puts together visual materials and mock-ups for presentation to customer or committee. 
5.  Ensures that artwork and boards are approved by customer before delivered to printer. 
6.  Ensures that artwork meets the printer’s requirements as camera ready art. 
7.  Takes on assignments from concept to completion and maintain honest and effective communication with customer throughout all processes of the project. 
8.  Checks jobs at print shop when needed. 
9.  Ensures that end product(s) meet, if not exceed, customer expectations. 
10.  Reviews exceptions requested by customer with supervisor in order to maintain product and or services within guidelines. 
11.  Provides work direction and guidance to personnel within department. May lead projects and activities. 
12.  May perform other duties as assigned.


Certification/Skills:

Computer Graphics Training

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in graphic design production such as art direction, production, and printing supervision.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
