Job Description:

Berry College seeks a skilled and innovative Graphic Designer to join our Creative Services team in the Office of Marketing and Communications. This individual will play a key role in shaping the visual aspects of our college's branding across a variety of media. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative vision, a passion for design, and a commitment to maintaining brand consistency across all college materials.

Because Berry College is a residential campus, and the daily supervision of students is an important aspect of our roles, the Graphic Designer position is NOT remote. There may be an opportunity to discuss occasional work from home, but much of this job is expected to be performed in the office.

  • Develop and implement design solutions for a range of marketing materials, including digital graphics, print collateral, advertising, and branded merchandise.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Services Director to ensure that all designs align with our college's branding guidelines and visual standards.
  • Manage projects from conception through completion, including initial concept development, design, revision, and final production.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the institution to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring that all designs meet both creative and functional needs.
  • Utilize a variety of design tools to create compelling visuals that effectively communicate our message to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain a current understanding of design trends and best practices in higher education to ensure our branding remains fresh and relevant.
  • Assist in the production of digital assets for the college's website and social media platforms.
  • Participate in photo and video shoots, providing creative direction and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects, including both print and digital media.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
  • Experience in higher education is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of web design tools is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
