Job Description:

Berklee is looking for an innovative graphic designer with a keen eye for visual design, strong foundation in typography, and interest in creative storytelling. This position will play a supporting role for the creative team within the communications and marketing division at Berklee. The graphic designer is responsible for design and production for the branding projects including motion graphics, print, digital, environmental, and experiential design. The ideal candidate should have a passion for design and a diverse portfolio of work that demonstrates ability to perform in a collaborative, highly creative, and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support design projects ensuring brand consistency throughout various projects for all Berklee brands including Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Berklee NYC, and Berklee Valencia.

  • Provide strategic insights and design concepts for institutional branding, recruitment and performance marketing initiatives that integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative, and interactive elements.

  • Support the creative team as needed and collaborate with the Berklee campus community to maintain the visual consistency across the Berklee brands.

  • Collaborate with the team, including project leads, copywriters, photographers, videographers, producers, and external creative resources

  • Assist in building and maintaining an organized library of creative assets, including essential brand materials, photography, videography, etc.

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, strong organizational and project management skills to meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects

  • Minimum three years of experience in higher education or media industry

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and other relevant design tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote, and Canva, etc.

  • Ability to work within established brand guidelines and concept new ideas within a brand while maintaining visual continuity across several mediums and outlets.

  • Passion for design and visual storytelling

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, conceptualize visual direction, and produce visually compelling content

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, including the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and communicate ideas clearly both orally and in writing.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team-based with high standards for quality and accuracy.

  • Familiarity with the higher education industry and its varied audiences.

  • Experience in video editing, animation a plus
