Position Summary
The Department of Art & Design are a seeking a full-time, tenure track faculty position to accommodate the growing needs of the Graphic Design BFA program. This position begins August 19, 2024. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. An attractive benefits package including full medical and retirement contributions provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in Graphic Design that focus on digital media, including, but not limited to:
  • UI/UX, Web Design, Emerging Media in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, as well as Introduction to Graphic Design.
  • Assess and redevelop existing courses in digital media.
  • Oversee and work with students in our Graphic Design Capstone experience course, taught on a rotating basis with other faculty.
  • Work closely with faculty in developing and recruiting for the Graphic Design program.
  • Meet the university’s requirements for reappointment, tenure, and promotion, including creative scholarship and service.
Required Qualifications
  • MFA, MDes, or equivalent.
  • College level teaching experience as instructor of record.
  • Skills should include an extensive working knowledge of UI/UX, Web Design and Emerging Media in Graphic Design.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, Figma, Word Press, Adobe After Effects and Premier.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MFA or MDes in Design, Visual Design or Graphic Design.
  • Three years teaching experience and/or professional experience.
  • History of either exhibition or publication of personal creative/research work.
