Position Summary Information


General Information
The Office of Alumni Relations is seeking an outstanding student to assist in designing for print and web projects for various constituents within the office. The student assistant must be detailed-oriented, willing to work in a team atmosphere and have the ability to be creative while working within the parameters of the JMU brand.
The Student Graphic Design Assistant must be available to work 12 hours per week (to be determined based on availability) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday within the Leeolou Alumni Center.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Create designs that can be used across multiple platforms, including print, video, web and social media
• Support alumni events (Alumni Awards, Reunions, Homecoming, etc.) by creating cohesive design elements that can be used across all marketing and event materials
• Contribute design content to the Homecoming supplement to the Breeze Newspaper
• Work with the Associate Director of Marketing and Operation to create a design timeline that ensures project deadlines are met
• Maintain the overall voice and brand integrity of the JMUAA
• Create other graphic projects as needed by the office
Qualifications
• Current JMU student
• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Knowledge of AP style
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Effective time management, task organization and prioritization skills
• Able to work within the JMUAA brand and identify
Conditions of Employment

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
