Job Summary
The Clemmer College of Education and Human Development (CCEHD) is seeking applicants for a Grants and Research Manager.
The Grants and Research Manager joins a dynamic team and supports CCEHD by overseeing and supporting the collegewide research and contracts operations. This position is a liaison among faculty principal investigators, university offices, and funding agency personnel. This position maintains knowledge of federal, state, and foundation grant requirements and management systems and consults and coordinates with university offices/departments in managing the post-award process. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Grants and Research and the Assistant Dean of Fiscal Affairs and Administration on behalf of the college dean.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of grant and contract regulations including those that govern the management of federal funds.
  • Knowledge of Sponsored Programs Administration.
  • Knowledge of grant administration.
  • Knowledge of the research process.
  • Knowledge of budget management, budgetary processes, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of computers and related software applications and systems.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures and grant policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate research information to various audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other university units and with external agencies.
  • Ability to handle detailed work with accuracy and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal with high-demand times throughout the year.
  • Ability to engage in effective listening and dialogue with a variety of faculty and staff as well as external individuals.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience in post-award administration, research administration, sponsored project administration, or fiscal management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience working in an academic research organization.
  • Experience in electronic research administration systems (InfoEd, Kuali, ITWorks, etc)
