Summary:

The Grant Writer is part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team at Temple University’s Harrisburg campus, supporting a rich variety of externally funded projects.  The Grant Writer performs grant writing and proposal development functions to maximize essential support from external sponsors for the campus’ research, training and programmatic initiatives.  The Grant Writer provides expertise and support to a team of interdisciplinary staff members, serving as the point person on grant projects.

Responsibilities include identification of new funding opportunities, facilitation and organization of grant submissions, thorough understanding of proposal requirements, development of plans for proposal completion, writing and/or oversight of proposals, facilitation of proposal budget development, and assistance with implementation upon award.  Additionally, the Grant Writer will function as a member of project or program implementation teams. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of directly related experience in writing, grant writing, program development or program design. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in grant acquisition and writing
  • Experience in human services program management
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Highly motivated

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
