Position Summary
Prepares and submits research and related grant and contract proposals with faculty and other school researchers. Completes and submits progress reports to agency sponsors.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the department's general, special purpose, grants and research budgets.
  • Coordinates all internal grant.
  • Manages finances for all department grants awarded.
  • Reviews end of grant period financial reports.
  • Assists faculty and departments in preparing budgets for grant applications.
  • Processes all grants and fellowships received by faculty.
  • Assists in assembling the grant's components, preparing the proposal's budget and budget narrative and liaising with coordinating units on campus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in using University general accounting, reporting and payroll systems (AIS, RAPS, HRMS).
  • Some experience with grant preparation.
  • Accounting background, particularly general budgeting and grant budgeting experience.
  • Oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Effectively communicating with constituents is a vital part of this job.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Organizational and excellent public relations skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification and three years’ experience working in accounting, grants and/or payroll.

Salary Range
$44,700.00 - $73,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
