Job Duties
The purpose of the project Maternity Care Nursing Workforce Expansion (MatCare) Training Program at East Carolina University College of Nursing is to increase the number of nurse-midwives from diverse backgrounds by supporting them financially, enhancing didactic and clinical curriculum that addresses maternal mental health and social determinants of health, and promotes health equity for rural and underserved populations and strengthen and support community-based training partnerships with our clinical preceptors. This project is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for $921,375 per year for four years.
The Grant Project Coordinator’s primary role will be to direct, manage, and supervise all activities in the multifaceted traineeship project. The Grant Project Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator/Program Director to manage clinical preceptor and student activities related to the project. Work requires knowledge of medical terminology, research and education concepts, developing standard operating procedures for project operations, regulatory requirements, planning, and budgeting. The Grant Project Coordinator’s duties will include, but are not limited to fiscal management, administration, organizing and planning work operations, communication, related business and administrative responsibilities and services, clinical site coordination, purchasing of equipment and maintenance of equipment, monitoring quality control, management of travel for the project team, and collaboration with the with the Principal Investigator/Program Director to complete required reports.
This is a time-limited position and is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation
None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
· Prior experience as a project coordinator is preferred.
· Experience in working with grants, pre-award and post-award; or experience in providing oversite of budgets over 1 million dollars.
· Knowledge and skills in coordination, accounting, scheduling, data management, data collection data analysis.
