ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

This position is in the Center for Research, Evaluation, Assessment, & Measurement in the College of Education, a multi-campus college, serving faculty across all three USF campuses. The Center serves as the hub of research activity in the University of South Florida's College of Education. The mission of the Center is to engage in high-quality research, evaluation, assessment, and measurement efforts and enhance the culture of research productivity in the College of Education. This position is responsible for providing faculty and postdoctoral scholars with editorial input and writing that will enhance the success of their grant applications. Specifically, the Grant Editor will participate in editing narrative drafts, particularly those that require expertise and awareness of education trends and issues in accordance with sponsor standards and requirements. The Grant Editor will work closely and in conjunction with College leadership and staff to support strategic initiatives related to grant funding.

This position will be mostly virtual, but there will be times that on campus presence will be requited for meetings and presentations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist faculty and postdoctoral scholars with editing grant proposal narrative drafts, particularly those that require expertise and awareness of education trends and issues in accordance with sponsor standards and requirements.
Work closely and in conjunction with College leadership and staff to support strategic initiatives related to grant funding.
Conduct training sessions for College of Education faculty and students on grant writing strategies.
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in developing or writing proposals to federal, state, or private funding agencies or 7 years of directly related experience.
FLSB 1310 equivalency:
4 years of related work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in related technical/scientific field AND five (5) years of experience in technical or grant writing, editing or publishing.  Demonstrated expertise in academic writing.  Demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs or related programs.
