Provides oversight to the post-award administrative research process for FIU's Preeminent Center for Children and Families (CCF). Works closely with the Office of Research & Economic Development (ORED) in overseeing the post-award grants administration, approving personnel and expenditures, ensuring compliance, and serving as the effort coordinator. Serves as the pro-card approver and department administrator, overseeing expenditures for all active accounts, and provides budget projections for the CCF auxiliary accounts to the College of Arts and Sciences.

  • Oversees the Post-Award Grants Administration that includes approving all personnel and expenditures on the grants, setting up subcontract and consulting agreements, overseeing and processing any changes to the grant that require internal approval or agency approval, (eg. providing budget forecasting and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and other sponsor guidelines).
  • Completes the Person Month calculations and estimated unobligated balance reports for sponsored project progress reports.
  • Update current and pending support in collaboration with the Preaward Coordinator.
  • Complete budgets, modifications and invoice reconciliation for all Children's Trust and Broward CSC grants held by CCF faculty.
  • Conduct monthly payroll audits to ensure that allocations are aligned properly. Identifies payroll transfers for the Center.
  • Generates a monthly Departmental Summary report and analyze any findings.
  • Completes faculty course buyout forms summer allocations, and research support summaries.
  • Serves as the effort coordinator for CCF, responsible for ensuring compliance with the mandatory effort certification process each semester for anyone paid with grant funds.
  • Serves as the pro-card approver for faculty and staff each month.
  • Serves as the department administrator for CCF. Oversees and approves expenditures for all active sponsored and non-sponsored accounts.
  • Provides budget projections to the College of Arts and Sciences on an annual basis for the CCF auxiliary accounts.

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of grant or contract administration experience OR Certified Research Administrator (CRA) and four (4) years of grant or contract administration experience OR equivalent combination of education and eight (8) years of grant or contract administration experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Must complete the internal Research Administrator Certificate Courses (RACC) within 3 months of hired. Must complete the CRA Prep Course within 1 year in the role
