Minimum Qualifications

1. Be in good academic standing
2. Hold a bachelor’s or higher degree appropriate to the area of service
3. Be registered full-time for the respective semester (nine semester credit hours during the fall semester, nine semester credit hours during the spring semester, six semester credit hours during the summer session or be performing supervised research with a UTRGV faculty member) or be registered in the required number of semester credit hours to fulfill the only remaining requirements on the degree plan

Scope of Job
Maximum appointment is limited to ten (10) hours per week (25% FTE) during the summer  semester. Duties include, but are not limited to, tutoring for undergraduate psychology majors in the following courses PSYC 2301 General Psychology, PSYC 2302 Basic Stats, and PSYC 3325 Research Methods, providing office hour assistance to students; and performing clerical tasks associated with course instruction.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
The assistantship award is available to master’s and doctoral students who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in the area of psychology.
