Graduate Research/Teaching Assistants

Internal Search: Open to newly accepted or currently enrolled George Mason University graduate students only.

The School of Business seeks currently enrolled or new George Mason University graduate students only for an internal search for Graduate Research/Teaching Assistants for the 2020-2021 academic year for Accounting, Finance, ISOM, Management, Marketing and Business Foundations areas. General Requirements:

  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications;
  • Disciplined to complete all assignments by deadlines given with accurate details;
  • Reliable to work all hours as scheduled; and
  • Students currently enrolled as graduate students in a School of Business program at George Mason University will be highly preferred.

Eligibility requirements, as outlined in the George Mason University, Office of the Provost publication, “Guidelines for Appointing Graduate Research and Teaching Assistants.”

  • George Mason University Graduate Research and Teaching Assistants must be:
    • Admitted to graduate study at Mason and remain in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and no recent unsatisfactory grades.
    • Enrolled in at least nine credit hours for a part-time assistantship (15 or fewer hours/week), or six credit hours for a full-time assistantship (20 hours/week.) Exceptions may be considered for students who need fewer hours to graduate.
    • Students required to meet the University’s English proficiency requirements must provide proof of meeting those requirements on or before the start date of their offer letter. Please visit the Admissions section of the current University catalogue for these requirements:

  • The applicant’s graduate program at George Mason University;

  • Number of credit hours in which you are currently enrolled; and
  • For relevant candidates, please let us know if you have already completed, or will need to complete if made an offer, the University’s English proficiency requirements. This information will only be used if an offer is made to ensure compliance with the Admissions office.
