The Community Engagement and Collaboration (CEC) Core within UIC’s Center for Clinical and Translational Science is seeking candidates for a graduate research assistant (GRA) position. The GRA will provide research support to our ongoing collaboration with community partners and consultation services, present at trainings, workshops, and webinars, and assist with the Community Engagement Advisory Board. They will also provide research support examining community members’ perspectives on community-engaged research. This is a 50% FTE position.

Community Engagement and Collaboration (CEC) Mission

The mission of the Center for Clinical & Translational Science (CCTS) Community Engagement and Collaboration Core (CEC) is to support UIC researchers to promote successful and equitable university-community-policy partnerships focused on dissemination and implementation of evidence-based health programs and services. Drawing on theories of organizational and community context to promote effective and sustainable health policies and practices, we target our programs and services to UIC research investigators, educational & community organizations, and key policy stakeholders to improve the health of the community, with a special focus on effective health services for urban youth. Members of the CEC team participate in ongoing collaboration with community partners (e.g., Chicago Department of Public Health, NAMI Chicago, Circuit Court of Chicago Restorative Justice Community Court) and other local university CCTS hubs to promote innovative community-engaged science in the Chicagoland area.
