    Scope of Job
    The College of Education and P-16 Integration is seeking to hire master’s and doctoral level students to be employed as research assistants throughout the 2021-2022 academic year (Fall and Spring). Research Assistants serve to support faculty with their research. In addition to providing financial support to graduate students, the position of RA provides the opportunity for mentoring by faculty as students learn how to conduct research by participating in actual research projects. RAs are assigned to specific research projects and will work directly with the faculty who are conducting those projects.
    Research Assistants’ work time should be spent on research-related work. Duties will vary depending on the project and assigned research/scholarly functions, or other creative aspects. Examples of research-related work include:
     Completion of Human Subjects Protection Training
    • Transcribing interview data
    • Locating professional articles on the research topic
    • Writing a literature review
    • Running statistical analyses on data
    • Organizing data into Excel and SPSS
    • Collecting data through interviews and/or surveys
    • Assisting in the preparation of conference presentation proposals 
    • Writing parts of a manuscript such as implications for practice
    • Creating PowerPoints or handouts for research presentations at conferences
    • Editing and preparing a manuscript for submission to a peer-reviewed journal
