Summary of Job Duties:
It should read like this: The Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach will serve as an assistant to the Swimming & Diving program in conjunction with completing required coursework for the respective graduate degree program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;
Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students;
Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Assisting the head coach with planning and implementation of daily practices
Coordination of operations; Securing hotel contracts, transportation reservations, per diem, meals, planning travel itineraries, etc.
Attend Staff meetings, be prepared for, and contribute to weekly staff meetings;
Recruiting - In collaboration with full-time coaching staff;
Coaching - In collaboration with full-time coaching staff;
Coordinating community service opportunities for the Swimming & Diving team;
Meet management duties; manage equipment/apparel;
Assist with NCAA compliance reporting and academic monitoring;
Other duties assigned by Head Swimming & Diving Coach.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to work effectively with student-athletes;
Effective communication skills.
