Graduate Assistant - Master of Science in Criminal Justice

Graduate Assistant to the Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ), which is housed in the Department of Government and Sociology.

Research - 50
Assist faculty in planning and implementing class instructions, meetings, orientations, recruitment fairs, lectures, receptions, and workshops, etc.  Assist faculty in conducting evaluations and assessments.
Research Support - 40
Assist with research projects under the guidance of faculty.
Other Duties as Assigned - 10
The graduate assistant performs other duties as assigned and participates in staff, committee, and other university meetings as appropriate and at the request of supervisor.

Bachelor's degree
Other Required Qualifications
Approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University. Upload Acceptance into attachment in application.
Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in person 19 hours per week. 

Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.
Required Experience
Enrolled in a graduate program at the University, with good communication and writing skills.

Strong ethics, professionalism, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to learn.
