Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for Graduate Assistant for The Honors College. This position will work closely with the Coordinator of the Marketing Publicity and Outreach Team in the Honors College. The Honors College has grown substantially in recent years. We seek a Graduate Assistant who is willing to join a team of dedicated professionals and students. Duties will align closely with The Honors College Strategic Plan.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

Marketing, Publicity, Outreach (Recruitment)

  • Recruit, hire and oversee student MPO volunteers

  • Support MPO Team

  • Honors Email 

  • Weekly MPO meeting

  • Attend & recruit at Nevada Bound events (Friday mornings)

  • Attend a variety of recruitment events

  • Write thank you cards/create swag bags

  • Create digital marketing materials for The Honors College

  • Maintain branding efforts

Social Media Management

  • Manage all Honors College social media platforms

  • Develop videos, graphics, and written content 

  • Present monthly reports on social media performance 

  • Create and maintain a content calendar 

  • Plan digital campaigns 

Committee Membership

  • Serve as the MPO representative on committees that support recruiting efforts and application processes 

  • Committees include (but are not limited to): Create All staff agendas and Manage Workday Processes

SLATE Administration

  • Liaison between OPS and Honors College

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be enrolled as a Graduate Student the University of Nevada, Reno

  • To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree-granting program and be in good academic standing

  • The student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0

  • The student must be continuously enrolled in at least 6 graduate-level credits (600-700) throughout the duration of the assistantship (upon approval of the Graduate Dean, English Bridge Course credits may be used to help satisfy the enrollment requirements.)

  • A student enrolled in a prescribed program is ineligible for a teaching or research assistantship
