Job Summary/Basic Functions
EKU Housing & Residence life (HRL) is seeking THREE graduate assistants for the 2024-2025 academic year. These positions will assist in a variety of tasks necessary for the operation of HRL and the success of our campus residential communities. Please see below for specific details for each position assignment. All three of these positions will work out of the HRL office in the Whitlock building and are supervised by an Associate Director of Residence Life.

Graduate Assistant for Student Leadership
The Graduate Assistant for Student Leadership support leadership development in student staff and the residential community. This GA will advise our student leadership organizations such as the National Residence Hall Honorary. They manage the resource room, facilitate leadership education, and appreciation efforts for student staff such as the end of the year banquet.
Graduate Assistant for Curriculum and Success
The Graduate Assistant for Curriculum and Success will support our early intervention and retention initiatives. They are an essential part of the team that implements our residential curriculum. This position partners with the Occupational Therapy graduate program to implement the Colonels Mentoring Colonels program which is a mentorship program for students on the autism spectrum. This GA will be supervised by the Associate Director of Residential Curriculum and Living Learning Communities.
Graduate Assistant for Case Management and Desk Operations
The Graduate Assistant for Case Management and Desk Operations will focus on working on managing a variety of student cases. This GA will collaborate with in-hall staff and campus partners to provide necessary resources aimed at student success. This GA will monitor students progress and evaluate the most appropriate next steps. This GA will work with a variety of reporting tools to ensure departmental standards and timelines are met. In addition, this GA will provide support to our residential community desks in providing excellent customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
• Unconditional acceptance into a graduate degree program at Eastern Kentucky University
• Enroll in at least nine (9) credit hours per semester in a graduate degree program
• Maintain a 3.0 GPA in coursework leading toward the completion of graduate degree
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess excellent computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Skills in multi-tasking and the availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Possess excellent administrative skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience living on a college campus.
• Experience working with college students.
