Job Summary:

The Graduate Assistant for First Generation Initiatives serves as the day-to-day coordinator for the Summer Bridge program.

Full Job Description:

The Program Coordinator is expected to be available beginning Monday, March 1, 2024. The number of hours required of the coordinator per day will vary according to the needs of the program. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the supervision and training of the peer mentors.
  • Help plan and participate in educational and recreational activities for students and staff on and off campus.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, instructors, and staff members in the program.
  • Conduct evaluations and final reports.
  • Facilitate meetings as assigned.
  • Help orient students to the USF campus, providing information about academics, campus resources, and preparing for college life.
  • Participate in all required meetings.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Meet one of the following: be a currently enrolled USF graduate student in good academic standing with the University or possess a graduate degree
  • Demonstrate knowledge and interest in issues facing students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be committed, hardworking, and flexible in their job duties and responsibilities.
  • Experience with first-year programs and Residence Life preferred.
