Graduate Assistants will provide educationally beneficial assistance to the College of Business & Technology. Positions are available as tutors for accounting (MACC students) or in computer applications. Positions are available in the Dean's Office, Graduate Programs, the Center of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, or for the Elevator Pitch Contest. These positions will handle various communications (including social media), organizational (usually Excel spreadsheet related), documentation, and event planning aspects, as needed. Positions are available as research assistants. These positions will conduct literature reviews, gather and analyze data, and summarize results. Other positions include a web development position (prefer MMIS student), a VR lab position, finance lab positions, and VITA (tax assistance) positions (MACC students). Some positions will be in a combination of the areas listed above.

Research -
Research literature, summarize articles, collect data, analyze data, present findings, and communicate orally and in writing as directed.
Project Coordination -
Help manage communication, create spreadsheets or use other software to track progress, create documentation, serve as part of the event planning team; may also include responsibilities related to seeking outside sponsorships or recruiting students, including attending events, creating social media posts, and research, marketing, and/or website development. These positions may require some evening, weekend, or off-campus work.
Lab Monitoring or Tutoring -
Aid students in accounting or computer application classes, including helping to understand conceptual issues and homework. The GA provides tutoring as required but does not grade or teach in the classroom. The assistant may monitor the accounting, finance (Bobcat Trading Room), SAP Next Gen (VR), or computer lab, which may include keeping track of visits, coordinating events, and overseeing students. These positions may require some evening or weekend work.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistant Program (VITA) -
Assistance with individual tax returns for VITA clients, client screening, use of the IRS VITA software system, and other office duties as required by the program. Some evening work is required during the month in which VITA provides services to VITA clients.
Administrative Support -
Assist in the offices within the College of Business & Technology as needed. These positions may require some evening, weekend, or off-campus work.
Other Duties as Assigned -
The graduate assistant performs other duties as assigned and participates in staff, committee, and other university meetings as appropriate and at the request of supervisor.

Other Required Qualifications
Approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University. Upload Acceptance into 'Other' attachment in application.
Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in-person 19 hours per week. 
   Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
   Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Some positions require acceptance into the MACC or MMIS program.
Preferred Experience
Excel; some positions prefer experience with software or hardware used in that position
