As a member of the Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP) team, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for the following job responsibilities:

80%: Serves as a resource to GP and Buckeye Link staff by responding to calls, emails, and visits (virtual and in-person) to help resolve escalated cases involving application and enrollment questions. Meets with students via virtual or in-person appointments, responding to student inquiries via email, answering phone calls and resolving issues. Uses a Peoplesoft Student information database to look up applicant information, and provide status updates to applicants, admits and matriculants. Conducts recruitment outreach via phone or email using a Salesforce CRM. Assists with recruitment events. Ensure effective intake of students.

10%: Acquires and maintains current knowledge of graduate, international and professional admissions policies, and procedures, including state and federal regulations, visa types and distinctions. Stays current with Ohio State Graduate and Professional program offerings and application procedures. Interfaces with programs and processing units.

10%: Conducts large and small-group presentations and webinars regarding the admission process. Travels to represent GP at recruiting venues. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Required: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience with office technology such as Microsoft Office applications. Ability to track and resolve problems. The ability to work and travel occasionally during evenings/weekends, with possible overnight stay. This position requires successful completion of a background check. A minimum of three days per week of in-person work is required.

Desired: One year experience in customer service or communications, including analyzing and interpreting information. Experience working in graduate or undergraduate admissions. Knowledge of Student Information System.

Hourly range for this position: $18.61-$24.81

Targeted hiring rate: $18.61

 

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, units' available budget, and the candidates' qualifications.

Hybrid schedule may be approved after successful completion of training.
