Grader for Computer Science

The University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information seeks exceptional candidates for two (2) Grader positions. We are looking for an individual who will assist the instructor in managing assignments for courses in the Department of Computer Science.  This includes but is not limited to responding to email inquiries about assignments, participating in discussion board threads related to assignments, and grading submitted assignments promptly.  These positions are outside of the tenure stream and have a duration of one term. 

Required Qualifications

o   Hold a BS in Information Science or related field by the start of the position. 

o   Knowledge of or experience in computer science.

o   No teaching experience is necessary, but the individual is required to be familiar enough with all concepts and calculations involved in a class to accurately grade that material

Desired Qualifications

o   Responsible for learning all background and lecture material necessary for accurate grading of homework, quizzes, and exams at the instructor’s discretion.

o   Master’s degree preferred.
