Position Summary
GME: Primary coordinator of one or two accredited educational programs that combined total less than 14 trainees.
 -Oversees and coordinates activities and ensures requirements are met related to institutional, program and board certification requirements.
 -Acts as liaison between education program authority and recipients.
 -Manages recruitment, application and orientation process.
 -Responsible for management of revenues and expenses.
 -Performs other duties as required in a competent professional, respectful and collaborative manner.
Coordinates all events and activities related to multiple post-graduate training programs within the Department of Surgery, including, but not limited to Cardiothoracic Residency and Vascular Fellowship. Assures compliance and conformity to all institutional and external guidelines related to the house officers and accreditation of the programs. Interact daily with house officers and collaborate with multiple Program Directors, prioritizing tasks accordingly.

Preferred Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Possess a spirit of cooperation, support and understanding for working with resident physicians, medical students, program directors and other support personnel.
Knowledge of various institutional, specialty specific, and ACGME software and data bases that are required to maintain departmental educational accreditation, including but not limited to New Innovations and the Next Accreditation System (NAS).
Knowledge of secure educational website design programs, such as Cascade.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of UNMC system.
